A year that was

As this year passes by, I'm thankful to God.  For giving me a good wife. For all the smiles I have received. The prayers that made me face the days. The friends who managed to keep in touch in this short busy life. The kindness from strangers. For everyone.

I'm beginning to understand the difficulties that arise from maintaining a really long-distant stable relationship now that Ronitta is in Wellington. Time conflicts are the least that's bothering me.

Have I become a tad wiser?  Maybe... Maybe not.  But life has to flow, and flowing it is.  Sometimes caught in little eddies... mostly smoothly though. And yet it gushes forth.

The Island of Crows (Kakkathuruthu)

My state Kerala is a beautiful one. It's lushy green all around. And I like it.
The very name means Land of Coconut Trees.
So you shouldn't be surprised to see coconut in amost all the dishes we make.
But the point is an island called Kakkathuruthu here has grabbed a spot in National Geographic's Around the world in 24 Hours photographic journey.

Now that's cool.  Kerala is so small that no one will blame you if you miss it in the Atlas.  But recognition such as these will definitely help maintain its pristine beauty.

I have lived my life in Europe and the Middle East but I still have to see a soil that's as fertile as here. We are blessed with both rain and good soil.  And that's what sprouts life here.

Sometimes I feel I'm blessed.

Motherless babies?

Who would have thought that giving birth to a child which carries just the DNA from the male was possible? Well they just did it.
While this is a scientifically great achievement,  long-term  effects should be studied.  It has only been carried on mice.. yet. However it seems safe as these mice could later normally reproduce.

What about all the mitochondrial DNA that we receive from our mothers?

A breather?

See how trees suck in all those CO2 emissions (Red= bad)

No wonder trees are the lungs of earth.

If

If you Stay close to me
I'll stay closer to you
If you Wander away from me
I'll come running to you
If you Ignore me
I'll never stop thinking of you
If you Hurt me
I'll be ready to forgive
Know that I am your God

Burning

There's nothing one can do when the Sun decides to sip us dry.  This year has been so hot here. But thanks to all the trees around, it's not that bad...yet!
My thoughts go out for the farmers and those who are inescapable from the heat.

I haven't planted a tree, but I have been watering some.  So..

Plant trees
They breath life

Inspirations

I have been thinking to write something about "influences"  for a while now. Maybe I lacked the impetus. But now I have.
Each day I wake up at 6 am to goto church.  But it's especially hard cos I love my bed more. Hmm
But then  I go and see these kids standing before the altar praying with devotion.  And then  I think,  "If they can wake up early, why can't I?
So yes I'm inspired.  Thank you kids.

Now the  main reason I post today is cos my pet dog died.  If it taught me something, it's loyalty.  To keep" wagging our tails" when  things don't go per plans.

She died wagging her tail while we called out her name.  We had no clue what went wrong (at that time).
So you see,  be it animals,  birds or a lifeless object as my previous phone.  Most teach us something,  be it patience,  love or loyalty.
